Ned’s Back, LJ the Rapper and LSU Faithful Put the FAN in Fanatical

“OH, NO YOU DID-ENT!”
Congrats Legend loyalists on another solid week. Fun levels are approaching an all-time high at 93. Dropping to 8 is not an option.

For the editors, it’s been a long week. We bid everyone happy viewing and share some late-breaking news from around the sports world to brighten your final Friday hours and take you into the weekend. Erie and Cecilio’s scribes be tiiiired.

Deadspin beat me to this. For those of you suffering from amnesia, A’Mod Ned is the fearless 5-9 warrior pictured above who threw himself into the ‘Canes/FIU fracas last year without regard for life or limb. The “rivarly” renews itself this year. Unfortunately, former U grad Lamar Thomas won’t be able to hop in the elevator from his press booth this year in the case of another brawl.
LSU fans are Crazy-Eddie insane. Check out this clip from EDSBS. Painting your housecat with Bayou Bengal strips. Now, that’s school spirit, people.

Chiefs stud back Larry Johnson is apparently the latest to try his hand at hip-hop. Allegedly, of course. Reports are that 2-7 disses Carl Peterson during his surefire classic, while also touting his penchant for packing heat. And you doubted handguns, ho’s and holdouts could logically be integrated into a killer rap tune. Ye of little faith.

And then there’s this, already being tagged B.P.F. Tragic. It’s the only word to describe watching something so promising, so category-changing, so innovative, cut down in its earliest days. We surely will keep tabs on this story as it develops.
Finally, our little Samantha Micelli is all growed up. One of our all-time favorites has parlayed her successful blog and legitimate fandom into a gig for TBS. Alyssa will serve as a correspondent for the network’s “Hot Corner” program (you damn straight) and serve “as the hands-on roving reporter giving fans the inside-the-stadium scoop from a mix of American and National League ballparks.” Now, for a brief musical interlude…and maybe a 20-second photo TO.

Super-duper. Seems like as good a point as any to close it out. A viewer’s guide from EDSBS from which to dictate your Saturday schedule. I’d plan those weekend errands during the Central Michigan-Purdue scorcher at noon.

Have a great weekend, all. And thanks for stopping by…but, really, stay classy.
