Dick Jauron Timeouts and Other Miss-it-Noonan Garbage

Miss-it-Noonan!Honestly, can we refrain from the miss-it-Noonan immaturity in professional sports today? Seriously. Stop calling the last-second timeouts. You want to “ice” the kicker? Fine. You have three timeouts and want to burn one every two minutes and extend the game forever? Fine. But enough with the wait-so-long-that-the-ball-is already-in-the-air b.s. It’s bush league. I could not agree with MJD more and, frankly, I couldn’t believe more people weren’t screaming about this until I found his piece….and realized at least somebody is…
Now, now…I can hear some of you already calling it “gamesmanship” and all other sorts of made-up words. Others might turn it around on me and say “If Mangini did it, you’d say you have no problem with it, he’s trying to win a game…”
You know what? I don’t think I would. After saying ethics could not be applied to what happens legally between the lines on the gridiron in reference to the Green/Johnson debate, I do believe that some things…well, like calling a timeout right before the kicker kick’s are just childish, little league crap. It’s like…
Yelling Ha! at someone trying to catch a pop up…
Putting your arms up, making other quick movements or “squeaking the shoes” on the hardwood just as someone releases a big free throw…
Yelling “miss-it-Noonan” when someone attempts a putt…
Barking at the goalie on the way in for a penalty shot…
You get the point. It’s pathetic. Let’s get rid of it.
