Classic 80s/90s Sports Posters, Vol II: "Chicago Vice"

Welcome to the first official Friday installment of our classic 80s/90s poster series. Since Tuesday’s post, we’ve received phenomenal nominations from around the country. If you’ve already shared, there’s a chance we’ve got yours cued up for a future post…fear not. All visitors new and old, we ask that you keep ‘em coming (legendofcecilioguante@gmail.com). I’ll be throwing up one classic 80s/90s poster a week along with your write-up and any link you may want us to plug.

Without further ado from reader Anthony G.

“Recently I was on a hunt to buy up all of the classic Chicago Bears posters that I remembered from my childhood e.g., the Jim McMahon “Mad Mac” poster or the O Line’s “Black N’ Blues Brothers” one. While on my search I stumbled across the attached “Chicago Vice” poster on eBay. I was so amazed by what I saw that I had had no problem dropping $40 after shipping to get mint condition copy of it for myself. Now there’s plenty of hilarious things about this photo, but the most amazing thing of all has to be that at the time it was completely acceptable for sports stars to brandish Uzis in a promo poster. Turns out Tank Johnson played on the Bears 20 years too late.”
