Veal Scalabrine, NBA Superstar, Starts Up New Blog

Brian Scalabrine has a new blog. Tip o’ the cap to Yardbarker for helping bring this phenomenal development to our attention.
Veal Scalabrine, as one of my longtime friends and staunch NJ Nets supporter used to fondly refer to him, is the typical fan favorite. The proverbial “scrappy white guy” with limited skills (compared to his NBA counterparts) but a great attitude who serves as a phenomenal bench cheerleader (see also: Mark Madsen, who, incidentally, really does have his own blog…would love to meet the people who anxiously check in for the latest updates from the Mad Dog). Add to the mix that fiery head of hair and it’s no wonder the crowd is sitting on the edge of its collective seat everytime it gets to garbage time in Beantown this season.
That said, we find two humorous things about Scalabrine’s first post. First, the photo. There are so many things to point to here…the fact that Scalabrine is suited up but clearly not “in action”…the focused glare…the perfect shooting form…but this terrific image was not what caught our attention. Here is by far our favorite quote: “…I am going to be reporting regularly to you about not just basketball, but the life of an NBA superstar as well.”
We look forward to more pearls of wisdom from our favorite NBA redhead.
Editor’s Note: We’d feel as if we were misleading our readers by not pointing you to the real genius behind the Scalabrine blog, the American Basketball Association of America. Fine work, gentlemen. It was fun to dream for a moment, though…
