Who Approved This? Jets Congrats Ad to G-Men

One last kick in the nether region for Jets fans compliments of the NY Daily News. This one-page ad appeared in Tuesday’s edition. Hey, Jets. Very nice gesture. All-class. Now, how ’bout spending some time towards putting a team on the field who can win more than four games? Hmm? Hmmm?
For years, I’ve joked with a lifetime friend and fellow Jets lunatic that we are going to be grandparents and still waiting to make that trip to the Super Bowl and our very own parade. A week like this has just been another painful reminder of our ongoing plight. I’d forgotten how a city rallies around championships…that fellow teams take out congratulatory ads in the local papers…that the players tour the late-night talk show circuit…
Our parents saw a Jets win in ’69. So far, my generation continues to wait. Maybe our kids will get to experience a Gang Green trip to the promised land? If so, I’ll be the goofy-looking middle-aged dude with the 80s gear yapping in youngsters’ ears about the “good ‘ole days” and the meaning of the event…this is too depressing to think about anymore.

This is that pansy Mangini all the way. Ugh. Who the hell congratulates another team on winning the Super Bowl?!?!?
I refuse to surrender the Meadowlands.
The Yanks had a similar ad in the same edition of the Daily News. it’s a NY circle jerk!
You guys are missing the point completely:
This is more a middle-finger to The Pats organization, then it is a legitimate congrats to the Giants.
Read it more as “Thank you for not having to hear about the 19-0 perfect division team for the rest of my life as we rot in the AFC East.”
And don’t think that Mangini didn’t call this in with a ‘F*ck You’ to Belicheat right in the center of his intentions.
Good call, LJ. In all honesty, we have no problem with the ad one way or another. Although, if your take is accurate, we approve wholeheartedly.
