Sure, it’s the San Francisco Giants. But we were facing “The Freak.” That’s right, Lincecum, the SI cover boy. So much for that.
Look out for the Metros? I’m still not sold on this whole thing but 1.5 back?! Really? How about a Mets minor leaguer showing some promise? A farm hand rising up through the ranks? Could it be? Well, Mike’s been nasty over the past month or so. We’ll take it.
Frankly, I can’t believe I’m even writing about this team. It’s ridiculous. But, hell, it’s a disease. I understand that now. Go Mets? I know I’m going to regret this kind of optimism in the morning. Nothing more now…

Yeah, it’s pretty sad that a team 46-44 is only 1.5 games out. I mean, they’re tied with the Florida Marlins.
Seattle and Cleveland def. get disappointing teams of the year, but I gotta say, I’d thought the Mets would have been a lot better.
