The Mets I Know and Love Hath Returned

You know that post from last week about not recognizing the Metropoitans?

Forget it. I found them again. The same bone-headed, heart attack-inducing, opportunity squandering, bullpen crumbling team I knew and loved (and despised) from the majority of the first half of the season.

Back and more painful than ever in a home collapse against the Phillies. Gotta love when you can use words “Mets” “Phillies” and “collapse” together in a sentence. Just conjures up such wonderful memories.

Replaying all of this in our minds reminds reminds us of this whole dynamic again (not to be the guy who perpetually links to his own sh*t).

Ugh. Honestly, we can’t even write about this right now. And for some unholy reason we’ll be back again tomorrow for more. Absolutely insane. No other explanation for why we willingly torture ourselves like this.

I’m going to go try to sleep this one off.

For your sake, I hope the Mets win tonite. Becuse if they lose tonite, the Mets might start believing that the Phils are in their head. Combine last season’s amazin’ failure to the Phils and now last night, and you might have a team that will start to blow itself up.
