ESPN Takes Cue from D’Antoni, Benches Curry

We got a chuckle out of this while perusing the box score from last night’s Knicks demolition of the Grizzle. Perhaps following coach D’Antoni’s lead, the folks at ESPN are similarly benching Eddy Curry.
At first glance, I’d thought that Fat Eddy’s face looked a little slimmer on his ESPN profile page. A closer look revealed that he had in fact dropped a few lbs, and apparently assumed a new identity — that of second-year man Wilson Chandler.
Pretty symbolic, if you think about it. While Curry sat on the bench and gathered up another DNP (coach’s decision) to add to his 2008-09 season resume, Chandler played a prominent role in the Knicks fifth win of the year dropping in 27 points to go along with seven boards, three assists, three steals and a block.
Curry, meanwhile, continues to get heavier and wonder where his ESPN photo (not to mention his career) has gone.
