Bless You, American Sports

G*d bless the U.S.A. Don’t get me wrong, I respect the unique interests, pastimes and cultural traditions of various countries and regions around the globe. My honeymoon visit out to SE Asia reminded me of just how dramatically the sporting landscape shifts outside the United States.

No offense to Formula 1, tennis and, of course the ubiquitous “football,” but I just got home and the vision of Final Four college basketball could not have been more welcome. I’m also getting the baseball itch and looking forward to an NBA playoff season that I think is going to deliver some seriously competitive series throughout.

Still catching up from two weeks turned off from my usual daily distractions provided by technology and all it entails. In short, it looks like the tournament has progressed in a fairly predictable and unspectacular manner. Apparently, Cutler is a Chicago Bear. Japan won the WBC. What else? I’m sure I’ll catch up soon.
