Johan’s Handshake Repertoire and a Metros Win, Both Stellar

We’re still getting back into the swing of things here, but a nice opening day win for the Metros. I can’t wait for next Monday night’s home opener. Git r done. In the meantime, work prevented me from catching any of yesterday’s telecast but, luckily, Deadspin was able to capture this phenomenal display of Johan’s “other” abilities.

I am of course referring to Santana’s mastery of individualized handshake/high-five rituals. We really can’t even pick a favorite. They are all tremendous. Truly amazing. Not to draft off the NYT article and get all “Johan is embracing his role as leader,” but…

In other news, so that’s the way the bullpen is supposed to work. Enjoyed the debuts from Putz and F-Rod, celebratory higher-power theatrics and all. More importantly, back to those handshakes.
