Rex Ryan Caught Smuggling Small Child Into Jets Camp

Not-So-Sexy Rexy

Not for nothing, I’m FIRED UP about Rex Ryan coaching my beloved Jets. He’s got a bit of that Ryan family nasty streak, and you couldn’t find a fan happier to hear we’re going to “ground and pound” with the running game. I’m also convinced he is going to transform our defense from a bend-but-don’t-break crew to a seek-and-destroy type unit. It’s about time. There are only so many years you can watch opposing quarterbacks calmly stand in the pocket surveying the field with seemingly all the time in the world before effortlessly picking out their targets with nary a moment of trepidation that defenders might be drawing near.

That said, I was checking out my favorite source for Jets news, and Bassett and crew featured a few AP photos including the one of Coach Ryan above. Wow. I mean, I didn’t fashion the Ryans for being waist watchers or anything, but Rex is huge. Just for comparison’s sake, we dug into the archives to see how Coach Ryan compared to another amiable, but portly coach of ours from back in the day. It’s never good when the Tuna looks slim compared to you.

All that said, if he can steer the green-and-white to the playoffs, he can visit those buffet lines as much as he pleases. Still, Rex, it might not hurt to hit the bike or treadmill a bit harder. That just doesn’t look healthy.
