The Legend of Cecilio Guante Hits SportsCenter (really)

So what, ESPN, you think you’re going to just roll out some cute, little two-minute blog-focused segment and somehow win over the social media masses regardless of your blatantly adversorial history with we, the uninformed, pitiful and sordid lot of basement-dwellers? Do you honestly subscribe to the notion that trotting Josh Levy and Sage Steele in front of a plasma screen is going to have us running to our laptops hoping to land that priceless cameo on your tiny network?
You think throwing up a measly quote and our URL is going to curry favor and solicit more unpaid publicity by bloggers hawking
your videos and lauding you for your “innovative” programming, responsiveness to change and genuinely noteworthy effort towards trying to connect with the blogosphere? Do you sincerely believe that recognition from ESPN means anything to us? Or that we care about a couple more eyeballs, click-throughs or monthly unique visitors?Well, ESPN, if you think all that you’re just…well, you’re…right on, baby! Y’all are pretty clever, and we ain’t too cool to say it. Damn it, The Legend of Cecilio Guante was on SportsCenter! Check it here, folks (or here, if the embedding thing still ain’t workin’), and to all our loyal followers who remember us from the days of our infancy way back in the ’07, we will never forget you no matter how not-big-time we get…
