20!!!
Just a quick note that the New York Mets celebrated their 20th use of the disabled list earlier today placing Alex Cora on the team’s favorite list. Cora, who earlier this season enjoyed a stint on the DL with a torn ligament in his thumb, has now fubarred his other thumb. I sh*! you not. On a side note, Cora’s done about 50x more than expected and deserves about as much credit as anyone on this Mets 2009 collection – filling in, playing with pain and doing things the right way. This latest Mets designation is their 20th DL declaration for 18 players, tops in the majors. Shocker, right? I was floored.
