Millen & Herm Form Scary Duo

Dynamic Duo

Traveling for business, so go to tune into some television channels and shows I don’t typically watch. Different schedule, different location. Don’t ask me. Anyway, I land on ESPN News and whatever program is on it’s football-related. So, I watch for a few minutes. That is all that it takes for my mouth to gape wide open. You know the two individuals on the screen together telling me what to expect and ponder regarding Vick’s return on Thursday? Matt Millen and Herm Edwards. Edwards. Millen. Together.

Now, of course, I’ve been aware for quite some time that these two individuals have been in the employ of the Worldwide Leader. Seeing them on the same set, though, each blabbering completely nonsensical emptiness was mind-blowing. This is not meant to be blog-style hyperbole. I sat there DUMBfounded at the “analysis” coming from these two men. This has nothing to do with their prior successes or failures and everything to do with what actually came out of their mouths.

It just reminded me again of how some of these former coaches, players and GMs really do not sound any more educated than many of the passionate and educated fans I talk to frequently. I don’t get anything really out of ranting on this stuff, it just annoys me. TELL ME SOMETHING. That’s all. Do your job. I don’t have to agree, but make a cogent point. Is that so much to ask? OK, if you don’t have anything insightful to say can you at least speak in fluent complete sentences? No? Then why exactly have you been hired and paid to provide your commentary on professional football?

Had the same reaction. Edwards spouts nonsensical blatherisms that sound fine until you apply thought for 2 seconds. And Millen….how does he continue to work in sports?
