That Clifford Lee Fella Seems to Be Doing OK in Philly

Apparently there’s some sports-related news buzzing around Philly tonight that seems to be drawing some attention. So, it’s a shame that what Cliff Lee’s been doing so far may get buried.
For those that are paying attention, though, Lee has been reminiscent of the man that caused Erie’s Scribe to get his panties all up in a bunch about last May. Despite having a very respectable low-threes ERA during his time in Tribeland in ’09, Lee had lacked the same magic and his record was middling – hovering around the .500 mark.
Then, Lee came gift-wrapped and dropped into the hands of the NL East-leading Phils. It has been a thoughtful present indeed. After tonight’s 8-inning one-run effort in a 6-1 Philly win over the Cubs in Wrigley, Lee is now 3-o in a Philadelphia uniform. His ERA after those three starts as a Phil is a tiny 1.88. I think Phillies fans are going to like this guy.
