Youkilis Gets Tossed: LOVE. IT.

Just So You Know…Nobody Likes You

I’ll have more substantive stuff later in the week. However, I couldn’t help but find pleasure in the fact that Kevin Youkilis got tossed during a brawl last night against the Tigers. The folks at Fack Youk capture most of my sentiment. Here’s some video of Yook after he charges the mound and throws his helmet at Porcello like a sissy-pants man.

Without going into a discertation on the many reasons I’ve come to loathe this player, he solidified those thoughts when I saw him at Fenway earlier this year against the Mets. During a tight game on a two-strike count Johan Santana hit Youkilis. This is not a new phenomenon as Yook has a tendency to hunch over the plate and do his whole ridiculous pre-pitch routine. What drove me nuts was his reaction.

He, of course, took umbrage to the pitch and started staring down Santana and pointing, virtually stopping a few steps towards first base. It was enough to get the home plate ump playing casual interference and Johan to give a genunie hands-in-air shrug as if to say: “Really? Are you kidding me?” It was a fleeting moment but enough to show all I needed to know about Yook and confirm that all the reasons people hate him are completely warranted.

I’ll be keeping an ear out to hear any pearls of bitchiness the big guy throws out in the days to come. The helmet tossing, too? C’mon. Not confident enough in your 6’1, 220 frame to charge the mound? You need to throw a helmet as well? Reminds me of this guy. Pathetic.

Sexson comes from the same helmet-tossing school…

Isn't the right field at Fenway 304?

In fact, I think it's 294 right by the Pesky pole.

The right field wall at Yankee Stadium is 314 ft.
