Looking Forward to First Enjoyable Jets Game?

I’m fired up for the Jets this afternoon. It’s the strangest phenomenon. For the first time in a long time, I plan to simply watch and try to enjoy my team playing a game on Sunday. Of course, it’s because it’s meaningless that I’ll be able to relax and take it in. And while I’d love to be vying for playoff position, watching a game sans any sort of expectations as to the result is actually somewhat refreshing.
I’ve ranted, analyzed and lamented enough about this team for the 2009-10 season. Now, it’s time to sit back and see if they can win a few games and make a run at .500. Today, we start to see if Sanchez can pick himself up and maybe absorb a lesson or two or whether the Panthers end up serving as another chapter in a precipitous rookie season free fall.
Today, I’ll focus a bit more on Braylon Edwards and Shonn Greeene. I’ll pay a bit more mind to why Dustin Keller seems to be falling short of his potential. I’ll keep a closer eye on Schotty’s playcalling and Rex’s game management. In other words, I’ll be less emotionally-invested so perhaps some real, objective analysis might come through.
I’m looking forward to it. I probably shouldn’t. These are the Jets.
