Thundering up even in defeat: thousands show up to welcome Thunder home

As I’ve mentioned before, there’s not much to dislike about the Oklahoma City Thunder. And while they may not have reached the summit quite yet, it’s quite apparent these Thunder may be hanging around the mountaintop for the foreseeable. A rising, likable coach. A core of young, charismatic stars. Oh, and as rabid and galvanized a community of fans as there may in the League. Friday afternoon was only the latest example.
Durant, Westbrook, Harden and crew landed back in Oklahoma City following their Game Five loss and were greeted by thousands of OKC faithful. The players promised a return to the Finals and a Championship. We hope they get it. If this is the greeting at 1:30 a.m. following a Conference Finals win, we’re guessing the OKC crew might Thunder Up a bit harder for an NBA Championship.
