Gilyard’s golden grill

We’ve got more coming on the Jets in the next few days. For now, though, a quick one we couldn’t help but notice: Mardy Gilyard’s golden smile.
I’ll admit it, I fall in love with college players and sometimes fail to take any sort of rational view of what they can or should become as NFL players. I can’t help it. I’ve still got these memories of Mardy Gilyard.
Unfortunately, Gilyard’s professional career hasn’t reached such lofty heights quite yet. His eight career regular season receptions and 16 kick returns as a Rams rookie have yet to land the former Cincinnati Bearcats All-American in an NFL endzone. Hopefully, that changes with his second stint as part of Gang Green Nation. He sure sounds ready to embrace that opportunity.
One thing that can’t be debated? That grin is simply golden, and it is glooorious. Now, pardon me while I replace my shades. It suddenly got bright in here.

I watched this young man in college. He has such strength in character and a great personality. The NFL could use more of this type of player.
We in Cincinnati wish him all the very best in the NFL.
