Devon Still Pep Talk Video; Her Diagnosis Made My Week
- Updated: September 26, 2014
Devon Still’s story keeps getting better. In part, because he’s choosing to share it. Still is a defensive tackle with the Bengals. He’s made news for the reasons you don’t want to make news as an NFL player. His four-year old daughter Leah has/had Stage 4 cancer. The story got national attention in great part because the Bengals chose to keep Still on their practice squad during this difficult time in large part, so he could remain insured and help pay for the surgery.
Since the story “got out,” there have been donated jersey sales. Purchases by other teams (see: Sean Payton) and all sorts of other good stuff.
Yesterday, Still took to Twitter for a quick pump-up speech to his girl on the way to her surgery.
The good news coming out of the surgery is that the tumor, and any signs of cancer, are for the moment gone.
Good for the Man of Still, the Bengals and all those who have made this a good story. Oh yes, and #75 is back on the active roster and making plays on the field too. All good.
