It came on again during the Knicks game the other night, and I turned to my wife and commented.
“No need for a new holiday commercial when you’ve already perfected it. That’s what great advertising can do. I’d be running the same spot year after year too, if it was this.”
I was talking about a Dick’s Sporting Goods spot. The Glove. One that launched a year ago and which I similarly praised at that time. If you’re like me, you know the one I’m talking about. Don’t listen one second to any haters. Simply put, they are wrong. Whatever their excuse for thinking this isn’t a brilliant commercial. Shut your pie hole.
It is perfection, and it makes me smile. That is all.
