Jadeveon Clowney hit (that is all)

For those of you who hadn’t heard about Jadeveon Clowney, the holy-f-in-sh*t South Carolina sophomore who many believe is a future #1 overall pick in the NFL Draft, we’re not sure where you’ve been. The kid has been dropping jaws since his ridiculous high school highlight reels.

He’s also been wreaking havoc during his first two seasons at South Carolina and recently made headlines when he declared his ambition to take the 2013 Heisman trophy as a solely defensive player. Clowney was a consensus All-American for the 11-2 Gamecocks this season, and he is getting better. Production is inching closer to matching athletic ability, which…oh my goodness. Scary.

Which all takes us to today’s Outback Bowl where South Carolina outlasted Michigan. The final scoreboard is more of a footnote, for our purposes. Clowney was the story. With one stop-the-presses defensive play, he swung the tide to the Cocks and their eventual victory. But the play…the play in and of itself could demand an entire post (which I guess is what we’re doing).

I was going to break it down, but just watch it. Feel free to pause and rewind. Just. Bonkers. He made another stop later in the fourth that was, believe it or not, almost as freakishly impressive (albeit without as dramatic as a result). Regardless, this is a play you will be unable to avoid in the coming days. And, honestly, why would you want to? It’s a beautiful, beautiful thing to watch.
